Plastic Smart Cities (PSC) has been implementing various pilot interventions to curb plastic pollution since 2018. Reflecting on experiences on the ground through a systematic review of the successes, challenges, and scalability of PSC pilot interventions, here is a package of learnings aimed to inform future programme design and guide the implementation efforts of stakeholders seeking to address plastic pollution in cities, coastal areas, and islands. This includes a series of case studies and recommendations for scaling and replication, along with investing in a circular economy.

The report focuses on five countries in East and Southeast Asia where PSC has had the longest history of engagement, the PSC programme has continued to expand globally and this page will act as a living resource, continuously expanding to include more case studies over time.
