WWF-Philippines on Plastic

Inadequate solid waste management has been identified as one of the leading causes of marine pollution. It has been estimated that plastic debris from land-based sources makes up to 80% of marine pollution and can be found from shallows down to the deepest parts of the ocean.

In the Philippines, there are five target sites for Plastic Smart Cities, namely Manila City, Donsol in Sorsogon, Davao City, San Isidro in Davao Oriental, and Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS). This project is among the many projects of WWF-Philippines that aim to protect the environment while addressing the needs of people on the ground.

Their call is for everyone from governments to individuals to work together and #ChangeTheEnding for the planet. You can support WWF-Philippines by spreading awareness about important concerns and issues such as climate change.
