Local and Subnational Governments Coalition to End Plastic Pollution Consultation Webinar: Towards INC-5

Following the Local and Subnational Governments Coalition (LSNG) webinars that took place on July 17th, 2024 which provided feedback on the negotiations during INC-4, and the plans of the LSNG coalition towards INC-5, this webinar will focus on:

1. Presentation of the coalition and global plastics treaty succinctly for those hearing about it for the first time.
2. Presenting the updated LSNG Statement. The initial LSNG Statement was developed with input from LSNGs ahead of INC-4, and launched on April 21, 2024. This statement had to be updated with additional points and information to make it more relevant for INC-5.
3. Hearing directly from Local and Subnational Governments on their considerations, challenges and opportunities that Member States need to keep in mind in the run up to the final round of negotiations. 

The webinar will be organized by the LSNG Coalition partners:  ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI); United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG); Government of Quebec, Government of Catalonia, Global Cities Hub, WWF, C40 Cities, and Regions4, while being supported by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Cities Unit, UN-Habitat, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
