DECLARATION OF INTENT:
The City of Oslo joined Plastic Smart Cities on 25 October 2019. Oslo was also recently named the European Green Capital for 2019, by the European Commission. Oslo is the capital city and most populous municipality in Norway, with a population of 672,061, while the population of the city's urban area is approximately 1,000,467. The metropolitan area has an estimated population of 1.71 million. The City is considered the center for Norwegian trade, banking and shipping, residing on the Oslofjord which connects the City to the North Sea. The City has implemented its very own "leading by example" initiative, which supports environmental targets with integrated strategies that engage citizens and businesses.
